About the Position
The Procurement Officer will provide comprehensive support in procurement services, assisting the Procurement Team with WorldFish procurement matters. The role involves ensuring that the needs of requesters are met while obtaining the best value. Additionally, the Procurement Officer will play a key role in ensuring that procurement processes are perceived by suppliers as fair, open, and ethical.
The successful candidate will:
- Execute day-to-day procurement activities, such as issuing purchase orders and obtaining quotations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of procurement plans and strategies.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Maintain procurement records and documentation, including purchase orders and contracts.
- Assist in vendor management processes, such as new supplier registration, due diligences checks and performance monitoring.
- Support procurement-related initiatives, such as cost-saving measures and process improvements.
- Follow up on procurement requests and inquiries from internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to address procurement-related challenges and issues.
- Participate in procurement training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to facilitate procurement processes.
- Contribute to the maintenance of positive relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Assist in ad-hoc procurement tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors or managers.
This job might be for you if you have the below skills and qualifications:
- At least a Diploma in Business Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience in relevant capacity, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in dealing with procurement activities and duties.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of standard office procedures.
- Deal with sensitive and confidential correspondence and information from time to time.
- Demonstrated the ability to handle confidentiality matters.
- Proficiency in use of computers and facility with software packages including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software and databases.
This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position and WorldFish offers a competitive remuneration package including comprehensive benefits (but not limited to) insurance coverage for staff and eligible dependents, employer provident fund contribution, paid leave, and others. The duration of the contract will initially be for a three-year period with possibility for extension, depending on funding and performance.
