We’re looking for a full-time copywriter to complement the team. You’ll get to work on a variety of projects, notably events, some integrated campaigns, and the occasional print collateral.
Attributes you should possess:
· Curious - Need we say more?
· Hungry - If you’re bloated with hot air, you won’t have the appetite for success. And we can tell. Most of us are foodies, after all
· Detailed - Marketing KPIs be damned if we fail to spot a typo. We’re one of the gatekeepers of our clients’ reputation, so an eye for detail is paramount
· Critical - Google may be our best friend and ChatGPT our newest obsession, but mindless research rears its ugly head when clients call us out for presenting the wrong information. That’s why critical thinking is, well, critical
· Versatile - Our clients span the familiar to the esoteric. You must be able to convey and adapt these brand voices across multiple media for different audiences
· Agile - The only constant is change. And boy is it relentless. You must be able to manage the barrage of changes, big and small, sometimes with a short turnaround
· Resourceful - We’re a small team that punches above our collective weight. How do we do that? By looking for ways beyond our abilities to solve our clients’ problems
· Informed - You don’t always need to keep your finger on the pulse, but knowing macro trends can be a lifesaver for clients who come to us in a daze
Yes, the list above is in order of importance. Perfection doesn’t exist, so we don’t expect you to possess every single attribute. Go through the list again to maximise your strengths and shore up your weaknesses during the interview.
Undeterred? Good. You’ll work closely with our team of designers and account executives but report to the Senior Copywriter and Executive Creative Director. Don’t worry, we don’t bite. At least not more than we can chew.
Qualifications are overrated if you don’t put them to work, so experience will be the determinative factor for this position and salary negotiations.
You should ideally have at least three years of agency or in-house experience and a portfolio to demonstrate your conceptualisation and writing skills.
Have more to skills or experience to show off? You’ll especially impress us with:
· Working experience in graphic design
· Working experience in events and/or activations
· Written and spoken working proficiency in your mother tongue
Still up for a challenge? Then write in to us with your expected salary and attach a selection of your five best works. This is an on-site role with discretionary work from home privileges, unless you provide compelling reasons to do so on a regular basis.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to fill up a simple questionnaire (read: NOT a copy test) before an interview is scheduled.
Those #agencylife memes are real. But you won’t be alone. Let’s laugh until we cry while creating some awesome work together.
