Job Brief:
The Data Governance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the data governance framework within the organization. This role involves overseeing and managing data protection and privacy practices within Tune Protect Group entities as well as supporting the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer (CRCO) in executing the Data Protection Officer fuction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Data Governance Framework
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality and consistency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data governance roles, responsibilities, and processes.
2. Data Protection and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws such as Malaysia PDPA, Bank Negara regulations on management of customer data and other relavant laws and regulations, where applicable.
- Oversee data access controls and security measures to protect sensitive and confidential information.
- Ensure Management and relevant departments are kept up to date on developments related to data privacy and protection.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with business units, IT teams, and data stewards to ensure effective data governance practices are integrated into business processes.
- Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on data governance issues and data management best practices.
- Facilitate data governance meetings, workshops, and training sessions to promote data governance awareness and best practices.
4. Data Governance Tools and Solutions
- Support the evaluation and implementation of data governance tools and technologies to support data management and governance activities.
5. Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare and present reports on data governance activities, including compliance status, and governance initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation of data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
- Serve as liaison officer with Jabatan Perlindungan Data Peribadi (JPDP).
- Ensure Data User registration with JPDP is valid and renewed on time.
Job Requirements:
Qualification:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree
Professional Qualifications: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Information Management Professional, Certified Data Management Professional) preferred.
Experience: Experience (5+ years) in data governance, data management, or a related field, with a strong understanding of data governance principles and practices
